Being the first product to build the foundation of our brand, Lakadong Turmeric is a special product.

Lakadong is a hard place to find on the map. The tiny, nondescript village at the foothills of the West Jaintia Hills in Meghalaya, is the heartland of a silent revolution. This is where the world’s finest variety of turmeric grows, and is most favoured for its high curcumin content of more than 7%, as against 2 to 3% found in regular varieties available in the market.

Curcumin, the key active ingredient in turmeric, is a miracle compound known for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties and renders a bright yellow colour to the spice. The higher the curcumin, the more prized is the turmeric.

Turmeric has been reported to have many health benefits. Its use as a medicine dates back nearly 4000 years.

Traditionally, it was used to treat skin disorders, upper respiratory tract disorders, joint pain, digestive problems, and more.

Curcumin is also anti-inflammatory and helps increase antioxidants in the body. This is good for general eye & kidney health.

Some research shows it may reduce the ability of cancer cells to multiply.

Curcumin may also help relieve the symptoms of arthritis because of its anti-inflammatory properties.

Key Benefits

What is the best time of the day to take turmeric?
Most people find success taking turmeric either in the morning to start their day, or at night before bed to combat inflammation from the day's activities. We also recommend that you take turmeric with a meal since curcumin absorption increases when paired with healthy fats.

How do I know if my turmeric is real?
One of the easiest ways to check adulteration is to add a teaspoon of turmeric to a glass of warm water. Do not stir it and leave it still for a while. Check after about 20 minutes. If the powder settles down at the bottom of the glass with clear water above, the turmeric is pure.

For many people around the world, a hot cup of tea is a warm, calming, and soothing ritual in its own right. For some, this alone might have mood-boosting effects. You can enjoy a cup of turmeric tea any time of day — have a cup to start the day, enjoy one after lunch, or sip one before bed.

Is it better to take turmeric capsules or powder?
Additionally, when it comes to liquid turmeric vs capsules, we believe that turmeric is at its most bioavailable when in liquid form, as the body doesn't have to break down any solids as it would with capsules. This means the nutrients can be absorbed more quickly and effectively.
