Being the first product to build the foundation of our brand, Lakadong Turmeric is a special product.

Lakadong is a hard place to find on the map. The tiny, nondescript village at the foothills of the West Jaintia Hills in Meghalaya, is the heartland of a silent revolution. This is where the world’s finest variety of turmeric grows, and is most favoured for its high curcumin content of more than 7%, as against 2 to 3% found in regular varieties available in the market.

Curcumin, the key active ingredient in turmeric, is a miracle compound known for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties and renders a bright yellow colour to the spice. The higher the curcumin, the more prized is the turmeric.

Turmeric has been reported to have many health benefits. Its use as a medicine dates back nearly 4000 years.

Traditionally, it was used to treat skin disorders, upper respiratory tract disorders, joint pain, digestive problems, and more.

Curcumin is also anti-inflammatory and helps increase antioxidants in the body. This is good for general eye & kidney health.

Some research shows it may reduce the ability of cancer cells to multiply.

Curcumin may also help relieve the symptoms of arthritis because of its anti-inflammatory properties.

Key Benefits

  • anti-oxidant

Kitchen Tip -
