Black Rice, once only for emperors, now everyone can enjoy it.
The deep black or the purple hue of the black rice is a marker of its high antioxidant properties.
Majority of the nutrients are retained fully as black rice does not undergo any milling process.
- superfood loaded with antioxidants
- dietary fibre
- rich in protein
- high in vitamins & minerals
How to prepare :
In order to retain the nutrients it is essential to soak it overnight, this will make the raw rice tender and will reduce the preparation time. Bring 1 cup of rice to a gentle boil with 2 1/2 cups water. Let the rice simmer in a covered pot until most of the water is absorbed, while stirring often for around 20 minutes. Remove from heat and let stand covered for an additional 5 minutes until the water is completely absorbed. The rice will remain slightly crunchy in texture. For softer rice, cook for an additional 10 minutes with an extra 1/4 cup water over a low flame.
Love this rice! It tastes great & has good texture. It's even better knowing this is one of the healthiest rices on the market.
