Prepared specifically from the milk of the Gir cows of India, our A2 Gir Cow Bilona Ghee is made by using the ancient ‘bilona’ process of curdling the milk and hand-churning it until the milk solids are separated from the ghee. Ghee made from milk which contains only A2 beta-casein (protein) is called A2 GHEE.

When we obtain milk from Desi Gir Cows, it is sourced ethically. Only about 70% of milk is obtained and 30% is left for the calf to ensure that the calf is well fed.

The milk is then boiled in earthen pots and kept overnight to make curd out of it. 

Once the milk has curdled, we make butter out of the curd using traditional indian methods.

This butter is then boiled to evaporate water from ghee and the fat (clarified butter) is separated from the milk solids.

In this process around 30 KG of Curd is used to make just 1 Kg of ghee, making it very difficult & expensive to obtain
